This is my second installment to my map section. I called this spaghetti, simply because thats what it started to look like as I put the roads in. You can spend most of a day on these roads. They are a lot of fun and I have found more bikers here than on K & 162. In October there was a group of Sport Riders that we encountered on 162 heading south to Coon Valley. And I have seen several bikes of different makes cruising county P which is a favorite of many in the area.

Route
Start where ever you want I guess. I normally take 33 out of La Crose and then pick from 162, H or G tohead south. If you mix this with the 162 map then you can run down to Stoddard and take 162 up to 33 and then over to G and back down to P and then take P east to Hwy 27 and then into Westby.
Cautions
Some of these smaller roads, ie; P, Pi, M, G, X, H, all have some great corners on them, but they are normally filled with rocks from hillbillys racing their pickups down the road. Cnty P has a hill on the east side right before you get to Hwy 27 that can be a bit treachorous if you aren't careful. The wholeright lane is often filled with gravel at some point on the hill. I would advise taking that hill slowly. P is also covered with Tar snakes, which isn't bad until its warm, then they can be like ice. Watch your lean angles.
Law Enforcement
As with all of these roads, law enforcement is strictest on the main HWY's. Otherwise the cruiser will not be seen much. Cnty P may get a few at times, but I have yet to see one there. 14/61 and 27 both have officers all over them. Bushes, gravel roads, Waysides are their hangouts. Don't get tempted to open it up in the straight stetches becuase there may be an officer waiting for you at the end.
Fuel and rest stops
Fuel is available in La Crosse, Coon Valley, Westby, and there may be a small station along 33 in St Joseph. I didn't include them simply because I can't remember if they had fuel there or not. There are a few small parks located close to the towns where you can stop. Also a rest area on 14/61 west of Coon Valley.

Places to Eat
West side La Crosse has Hardees, Subway, Dominos, and Toppers for pizza, a chinese buffett, as well as a Quillins Grocery store. Coon Valley has a small Italian restaurant where you can have some spaghetti before making your spaghetti run. There are a couple of restaurant in Westby as well. One located in a gas station and the other called Borgens. Borgens is a bit slow, so if you eat there, expect to lose an hour waiting.

Things To See
There is a scenic overlook located Just out side of La Crosse on Hwy 33. There is a large Ski Jump and 3 hole golf course on Cnty P near Westby. Westby has an annual celebration and normally has other little things happening. The area has a lot of Amish so you can always find Amish goods. Westby web site. Viroqua also has a few celebrations throughout the year Viroqua Web site

Alternate Roads
You can take 162 north from 33 to Hwy 16 or Interstate 90 and then East to Sparta and then take 27 south out of Sparta to Westby. 14/61 to Viroqua and then Hwy 56 west out of Viroqua to Genoa and then North on Hwy 35 to Stoddard and then take 162 back to Coon Valley. I have not been on CntyM for awhile, but I will go on it soon and let you know what its like.

Riding Style
These are cruising roads. Too much junk on the roads to take them at any speed over 70. Sure you can play in the straights but the corners can get you when you least expect it. Cnty P has a few hairpin 25MPH corners on it, with a rock wall at the end of the corner, so if you go down and go across the road you are going to get hurt pretty bad. Also this is farming country and a few Amish buggies may be around so watch for those.

To print this page you can "fit to page" in your print preview. If that option is not available then print at 80% or less to get the web page to fit to the 8.5 X 11 page you are printing to. If neither of those options are available then choose to print landscape rather than portrait and you will at least get the width of the screen on your paper. If you experience any problems let me know.

I am not responsible for this information being accurate nor am I responsible for something happening because you thought it was accurate. I don't control the weather or the road conditions, either one can change a roads ridability quickly. I am also not responsible for you getting a ticket or any other bunk that someone may feel like suing for. Figured I better say it before someone takes me to court for something.
